Between Friday, 20 December 2019 and Wednesday, 1 January 2020, double demerits are in place across NSW.

You could be at risk of losing demerit points for:

  • Speeding offences;
  • Not properly wearing a seatbelt;
  • Not properly wearing a motorcycle helmet; or
  • Mobile phone offences.

If a person reaches or exceeds the demerit point limit of their licence, they will receive a Notice of Suspension from Roads and Maritime Services advising them of the length of their suspension and when that suspension will commence.

If you have received a Notice of Suspension, you should seek legal advice before proceedings.

You can contact Streeton Lawyers over the holiday period to speak to a traffic law expert on 02 9025 9888.
